Healthy food includes all the necessary ingredients, important for the nourishment of both, the brain and the body. Parents and nursery caretakers can struggle to provide delicious and healthy snacks that children might enjoy. If you’re looking for inspiration, see below for some healthy and delicious snack recipes for all the family to enjoy.

1- Banana Oat Bites

Take oats, cinnamon, honey, and a banana. Mash a banana and mix it with oats, cinnamon, and some honey. Turn this mixture into small balls and bake it in the oven for 10-12 minutes at 180C. This snack is full of fibre and a source of good amounts of potassium.

2- Fruit and nut frozen bananas

Simply slice your bananas in half and spread peanut butter on top, then add sliced strawberries and pop in the freezer.

3- Apple and Peanut butter sandwiches

Turn the apple into thin round-shaped slices and spread peanut butter on one side of each slice. To make a sandwich, take peanut butter and put it in the middle of the slice. This snack is delicious and provides nursery children with a good amount of protein, healthy fat, and fibre.

4- Fruit Kebabs with Yogurt dip

Cut the favourite fruits of your children such as strawberries, bananas, pineapple, grapes, and mangoes into small bite-sized pieces. Thread the fruits onto the skewers and put them on a plate. Now, to make a healthy dip, mix together, plain yoghurt, and honey and squeeze some lemon juice. The healthy snack full of protein, vitamins, minerals, and fibre is ready to be loved by your children.

5- Chickpea Hummus

Tip 1 can of chickpeas and 1 garlic clove into a bowl with ½ tsp of cumin, coriander, 1 tbsp lemon juice and add oil. Add 2 tbsp of the reserved aquafaba liquid from the chickpeas, then blitz using a hand blender until smooth. If the blender is struggling, add another splash of the liquid. Season and add a little more lemon juice if needed.

6- Veggie Pitta pizza

Now, spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over each pita followed by a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese followed by some black olives, bell pepper, red onion, and mushrooms.
